We are looking for an enthusiastic Territory Underwriter who thrives on a collaborative, relationship driven underwriting approach to join our team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to achieving and exceeding the regions’ profitability goals through proper risk selection and account management. This individual will collaborate with Business Development to create and foster agency relationships in the Assigned Territory.  This job is a work from home position with significant over the road travel, up to 25% of the time.  A willingness to meet and travel to agencies is key to this role.   Key functions include but are not limited to the following: - Underwrites all new business and renewal risks for designated geographic region - Manages a book of business between $15 - $20 million - Develops and maintains relationships with agencies within a key geographic region - Works to achieve/exceed planned accident year loss ratio, rate change, renewal retention and inforce premium goals - Documents, analyzes and offers decisions with appropriate detail within underwriting authority levels - Takes initiative to recommend potential improvements in underwriting principles, techniques or appetite - Complies with insurance filings and regulatory requirements - Supports the company’s business development strategies through exceptional responsiveness and communication, agency visits, and point-of-sale presentations if/when necessary - Demonstrates a working knowledge of our appetite and accurately conveys message to the agency plant; monitors and manages agency hit ratio metrics, new business volume, and overall profitability - Utilizes Berkley Industrial’s internal tools to track book performance, ensuring new business target production volume is met throughout the term - Establishes a knowledge base of agency needs, staff, target markets, and contracted insurers; documents agency visits - Performs agency evaluations and works with Business Development to create and ensure agency goals are being met

This role is critical to Berkley Industrial Comp’s (BIN) underwriting department.  The Associate Underwriter will assist underwriters with reviewing, documenting and preparing renewal files and quotes.  The Associate Underwriter will work with the underwriting team to successfully renew business and help meet our retention goals.  The role requires individuals to be a team player and work in conjunction with our underwriting department to review, quote, issue and retain business.  The Associate Underwriter will learn all facets of the underwriting job and be trained to be an Underwriter.   The Associate Underwriter will work, as needed, to support the Business Engagement Department, as business needs arise.  Time spent between Underwriting and Business Engagement will fluctuate month to moth and as such, the Associate Underwriter must possess a positive attitude to help whenever and wherever is needed.  The Associate Underwriter will report to the Director of Underwriting; however, both the Business Operations Manager and the Director of Underwriting may assign tasks as needed.  The Director of Underwriting and Business Operations Manager will collaborate on the Associate Underwriter’s performance each year.   Key functions include but are not limited to: - Within a defined set of parameters: - Identify monthly renewals and proactively work with underwriters to prepare renewal quotes - Where appropriate, prepare BRAT models for renewal quotes - Other tasks, projects and initiatives set forth by the Director of Underwriting - Prepare pertinent renewal information to include Experian data, SAFER data, OSHA data, claims data, RAMP data, and pricing data - Prepare HAMOGRAK documentation form for renewal files - Prepare BRAT loss modeling - Collaborate with BIN’s UW team to propose renewal pricing quotes - Other underwriting tasks and projects as needed - Assist as needed with Business Engagement tasks as workloads require - Communicate with the Business Operations Manager and Business Engagement team members to ensure excellent customer service is maintained

The Manager of Branding and Communications leads corporate branding and communication efforts and is ultimately responsible for the execution of Berkley Industrial Comp’s overall marketing strategy and digital client experiences.    Responsibilities include a broad scope of duties focused on marketing, branding and communication initiatives, as well as external user experience, change management, research, and design.  This role maintains a dedicated attention to marketing/branding content creation, global distribution of communications and brand focused quality control across the organization.   - Key responsibilities involve strategizing, developing, and implementing targeted marketing campaigns to support profitable business development and growth. - Supervisory responsibilities include oversight of two marketing team associates. - Through collaboration with Underwriting and Business Development leaders, identifies industry trends in product and service deliverables to tailor strategically timed marketing efforts focused on branding and communication. - Seeks to enhance the client experience utilizing newly implemented digital/online channels. - Conducts communication audits, seeking to enhance key interactions/touchpoints throughout the client journey. - Develops materials supporting product and service offerings, ensuring the Berkley Industrial Comp brand remains relevant and appealing to key stakeholders. - Responsible for graphic design including maintenance of all existing marketing collateral (company and brand logos, marketing handouts, point of sale, booth systems and digital). - Responsible for content creation and events calendar tied to marketing and sales initiatives. - Responsible for design and execution of social media strategies across selected channels. - Conducts research and develops customer personas. - Manages content updates to Berkley Industrial Comp’s website. Maintains structural development of website pages and component sections including SEO boosters, metadata and site configuration. - Writes, reviews, and publishes company communications, including press releases, company newsletters, collateral materials, forms, user guides as well as other relevant point for view articles that support our market strategy. - Supports the Alternative Market segment operating units in user experience research and design implementation for digital applications including portal environments, chat bot, and global notifications. Key Performance Indicators - Performance for this role will be evaluated across the qualitative performance definitions for Berkley Industrial Comp and W. R. Berkley including: Accountability, Communication, Customer Focus, Flexibility, Innovation and Initiative, and Teamwork and Collaboration.  - Quantitative performance will be measured in alignment with the objectives established within the annual business plan for the marketing department, including the focus areas of: - Metrics associated with Agency Communications/Campaign Management - Effectiveness and outcomes of Communications Audits - Metrics assigned to various change management initiatives - Quality and timeliness of Collateral Development and Management - Final Product Quality Review of Marketing Project Assignments - Effectiveness of Media Relations, Social Media Management and Industry-focused Article Development - Timely and Accurate Preparation of Project Assignments - Implementation and effectiveness of digital application development
