The Senior Underwriter - Professional Liability - Technology E&O/Cyber will work in a team setting generating, underwriting and analyzing accounts for development of new and renewal Professional Lines business.
- Compliance with underwriting documentation rules and guidelines.
- Maintain an acceptable underwriting profit.
- Adherence to Admiral underwriting guidelines and referral compliance.
- Development and maintenance of key broker/agent relationships.
- Participates in all internal company training and continuing education.
- Remains current on product releases as it pertains to line of business.
- Leads strategic marketing calls to key brokers (up to 25%).
- Management and development of business and broker relationships new to the organization.
- Stay abreast and knowledgeable on market trends in terms of forms, coverage and appetite to maintain competitiveness.
- Active mentorship and training of Associate Underwriters and Underwriters.
- Act as a referral authority for Associate Underwriters and Underwriters.
Responsible for producing high quality financial analysis and reporting to assist the business with informed decision making and support our internal and external customers.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close process.
- Analyze and compare monthly and quarterly results, metrics and key performance indicators against plan and other benchmarks.
- Perform month-end close activities and related entries and reconciliations within established deadlines.
- Conducts insightful variance analysis between actual results and budget/forecasts as part of monthly financial reporting package.
- Prepares and coordinates with appropriate team members on monthly senior management reporting package.
- Develop and maintain financial models, trend and scenario analysis to support business with financial and strategic initiatives.
- Perform ROI analysis and maintain scorecard of all Capital Projects and provide status of projects and spend on monthly basis.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline workflow enabling increased focus on analytics.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support our business partners.
The Manager, Clearance will lead and direct the Clearance Team and their team’s activities for all lines of business, ensuring effective delivery of service to all levels of internal and external customers.
- Leads and directs the work activities of the Clearance Team, including the performance and development of staff in accordance with Admiral’s strategic direction.
- Responsible for resolving any escalated Clearance issues/errors in an expedited manner.
- Establishes and maintains strong working relationship with internal and external customers across all lines of business.
- Responsible for managing support for all BPMi and BOOST submission boxes to ensure that the SLA for clearance is met on a daily basis.
- Meets with internal and external customers to review service level agreements and cultivate process improvement opportunities. Focuses on increased responsiveness, resolving issues and continuously raising the quality of work.
- Works with VP, Underwriting Services to determine any system enhancements, new systems needed, adjustments to headcount to allow the team to work more efficiently.
- Responsible for staying up to date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise as well as the insurance industry.
The Finance Intern acquires and analyzes data along with assisting members of the Business Analysis team with various ongoing projects. Communicates with Finance team and managers. Participates in decision-making process by identifying issues and recommending solutions.
- Performs basic financial and business analysis functions.
- Provides support to all functions within Finance.
- Learns/Observes the business interaction with other Departments.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
- Becomes proficient in working with large data files using the appropriate software.
The Claims Superintendent will be responsible for handling a High Exposure pending for Excess and Surplus lines carrier, cases involving Products, Habitational, Contractors, (including but not limited to New York Labor Law), and Liquor Liability matters. Responsibilities will include intense coverage analysis, investigation, and management of litigated files. Role can be remote for candidates with adequate level of experience; however, in-person, in-office training will be required during the first few weeks.
- Present facts of claims, with recommendations, to committee as necessary.
- Prepare large loss reports where applicable.
- Attend and participate in mediations/trials as necessary.
- Establish appropriate loss and expense reserves. Maintain valid loss and expense reserves based on current investigation and legal discovery.
- Supervise activities of Independent Adjusters, investigators and defense attorneys to ensure that all claims are appropriately handled.
- Adhere to company procedures and Best Practice guidelines as well as case and statutory law requirements when coverage is in question, and/or when paying or denying claims.
- Comply with reporting requirements of treaty and facultative reinsurers.
- Maintain current understanding of various unfair claim practices statutes.
- Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage.
- Additional tasks as assigned.

The Underwriting Assistant will provide general operational support to the Department including the processing of policies, endorsements, submissions and other client related correspondence for new and existing Professional Liability accounts.
- Sends requests for additional information (inspection reports, financials, audits).
- Policy creation, binding, and issuance.
- Issues notices of cancellation or reinstatement within authority.
- Processing of endorsements and related correspondence.
- Provides reports upon request.
