Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute on initiatives to enhance and support Business Development teams on both new and existing programs
- Advise and guide senior management on opportunities for strategic growth, process improvements or resource allocation
- Lead variety of projects related to the expansion of our portfolio of programs
- Identify, create and develop enhancements of all products and services that help support growth and retention goals
- Manage all Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects related to the captive division
- Lead various cross-operational and cross-segment strategic projects

- Oversight and analysis of competitors, emerging trends, or new entries
- Support and work closely with VPs of BD for unique projects or opportunities to improve close ratios
- Seek out and increase expertise in various current and emerging risk management solutions
We have an opportunity for an Underwriting Associate join our Berkley Accident and Health (BAH) team! This role will be based in our Hamilton, NJ office.

Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Review and verify the completeness and accuracy of RFP's inputted into our underwriting system
- Initiate communication with external parties, including TPAs and brokers, to request any missing documentation or on declinations
- Ensure folders on the shared network drive contain the entire RFP and that the documents are housed in the appropriate folders for each case
- Input both the specific and aggregate claims experience in the underwriting system, paying close attention to any missing information or information that requires compilation from multiple sources
- During claim experience input, initiate screening of potential claimants of concern to present to the Underwriter
- Using guidance learned from training and mentorship, begin to formulate initial rating recommendations to Underwriter, utilizing the journal notes in the system
- Participate in underwriting review discussions in order to learn how Underwriters draw conclusions and make final risk selections from data presented during the setup and initial review process
We have an opportunity for a SeniorUnderwriter to join our Berkley Accident and Health (BAH) team! You will seek profitable growth of the company’s portfolio of stop loss business by analyzing and selecting risks based on qualified underwriting criteria that adhere to the company’s established underwriting guidelines. You will work cross-functionally with clinical, actuarial, claims and distribution to carry through new and renewal business strategies in a professional and thoughtful manner.

We have an opportunity for a Corporate Accountant (Entry Level) to join our Berkley Accident and Health (BAH) team! You will be responsible for accounting and reporting related to the business unit’s reinsurance programs and Group Captive business segment. You will also provide support to the Finance Department for a variety of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting activities.

- Participation in monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement closing processes
- Responsible for the production of monthly cession statements for recording reinsurance activities into the general ledger and reporting financial results to our captive reinsurers; Quarterly and Annual Schedule F Reporting
- Monthly reconciliation of trust accounts and collateral; preparation of reinsurance settlements and payment requests to settle open balances with our captive reinsurers, including profit share and collateral drawdown calculations

You will be responsible for setting up new and renewal prospects for our Captive Underwriters, as well as performing all other necessary functions required to underwrite the prospect and/or renewal. We have an opportunity for a Stop Loss Claims Analyst to join our Berkley Accident and Health team! You will perform quality review and evaluation of all claim submissions received and logged into our claims system to determine whether the amount requested is eligible for reimbursement.

- Review and adjudicate claims within approved authority limits
- Maintain assigned claim block and assist other team members while meeting departmental guidelines
- Document rationale of claim decisions based on review of the contractual provisions, plan specifications and the analysis of medical records, etc.
- Elevate issues to next level of supervision, as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
We have an opportunity for a Business Project Manager to join our Berkley Accident and Health (BAH) team! You will provide meeting and project management support to the Program Management team, assisting in the day to day management and oversight of programs, including but not limited to tracking and managing captive membership deliverables, collateral status, as well as the development of systems to track and manage our captive program business.
