The Operations Assistant will support all phases of the premium audit process and provide operational support to the Underwriting team. In additional, this position will provide administrative support to all BTU locations as needed.
Key functions include but are not limited to:
Premium Audit/Underwriting Operational Support:
- Ensure the accurate and timely rating, booking and issuance of premium audits and related transactions.
- Communicates as needed with agents to obtain information needed to complete the premium audit transaction.
- Answers agent questions, resolves agent problems on topics such as premium audit status and billing.
- Daily communication with Operations and Underwriting staff.
- Supports other aspects of the premium audit process, such as ordering premium audits.
- Support Claim and Risk Control as directed.
Administrative Support:
- Responsible for general office administrative support, including ordering office supplies, managing incoming and outgoing mail, reception, responding to telephone and email inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Manage the Customer Account set up and clearance process.
- Use the workflow management system to create work items for new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations.
- Support the agency appointment set up and licensing process.
- Order underwriting reports, including MVRs and Catastrophe Exposure reports.
- Coordinate company events and assist with arrangements for company visitors.
The AVP, Regional Underwriting Manager will serve as the strategic, operational, and motivational leader of Underwriting in support of delivering profitable growth and providing excellent community, employee, and customer relations.
Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Lead underwriting contact within assigned region.
- Responsible for strategically building a territory.
- Manage profit, loss, growth, rate and retention results for assigned territory.
- Create new agency relationships and maintain existing relationships.
- Lead agency distribution within assigned territory.
- Develop marketing strategies.
- Underwrite and manage assigned book of business.
- Manage and monitor overall pricing practices and targets.
- Sales and marketing efforts as needed to build assigned region to include product presentations, agency product training, etc.
- Delegate underwriting authority and monitor compliance within assigned region.
- Manage treaty reinsurance coverage placement and adequacy
- Provide leadership and direction on business opportunities, pricing, retention analysis, loss control needs, and account stewardship
- Conduct audits for quality control and conduct training where needed.
- Prepare, assign and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.
- Establish development plans for individual team members and direct reports.
- Participate in Claim Review Meetings when applicable.
- Visit and develop rapport with key existing and prospective agents, as appropriate.
The Regional Underwriting Specialist will serve as a technology underwriting expert in assigned region delivering profitable growth and excellent community, employee, and customer relations. Leads new business directive for assigned territory/producers.
Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Experience underwriting professional with strong P&C underwriting skills
- Technology professional liability experience preferred, but not required
- Serves as an underwriting lead for assigned producers
- Authority referral resource for underwriting associates within assigned territory
- Responsible for generating profit, growth and retention results for assigned territory / producers
- Lead new business initiatives for assigned producers with the assistance of manager
- Execute business initiatives for territory which include generating business opportunities, pricing, premium retention, coverage analysis, loss control needs, claim service needs and account stewardship
- Serve as the primary underwriting contact for accounts as assigned by manager
- Mentor underwriting staff and operations staff on a continuous basis
- Coordinate sales and marketing efforts for assigned territory / producers
- Follow established pricing, underwriting and documentation protocol as set forth by underwriting management
- Visit and develop rapport with key, existing and prospective agents, as appropriate
