Help co-workers improve their skills by sharing your knowledge.   Senior Underwriter In addition to the above, Senior Underwriters will have three or more years of experience and will have the following responsibilities: - Demonstrate enhanced product knowledge and act as a resource for team and other departments. - Demonstrate commitment to self-development, course learning and educational opportunities. - Demonstrate consistent commitment to department’s underwriting guidelines and best practices via formal and informal reviews and department roundtables. - Handle larger and more complex risks and agencies. - Provide direction to underwriters and support staff as needed - Maintain a workflow for assigned territory that meets all department service standards and expectations and consistently strive to improve workflow.   Team Leader In addition to the above, Team Leader will: - Demonstrate ability to lead, mentor and coach individuals and teams - Provide direction to staff members - Assist with supervision of staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. This may include interviewing, hiring and training employees, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, resolving problems and tracking time and attendance.

Works closely with the Branch Manager and Home Office Marketing to achieve growth and profitability goals.  Primarily responsible for the Branch Marketing function.  Ensures all Branch marketing and financial objectives are achieved.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Serves a critical role in the execution and achievement of key financial objectives, to include new business development/growth strategies, book management, agency relationships, customer retention and staff training. - Demonstrates skill in communications, presentations, relationship building, negotiations, problem solving, sales training, organization, and analytics. - Identifies new opportunities that will help advance the business through growth, customer experience or operational efficiency. - Has a thorough knowledge of Acadia products, programs, services, and financial incentives including profit sharing agreements, to promote and facilitate the placement of profitable business from Acadia agents. Delivers training/education to agency staff about Acadia products & programs as needed. - Builds and maintains strong relationships with agency partners, particularly at leadership levels and facilitates connections between agency and Acadia personnel. - Acts as a change leader and influencer to support achievement of branch goals. - Handles and resolves a variety of agency issues and problems that may develop to include, but not limited to, contractual, accounting/collections, and agency merger/acquisition concerns. This includes underwriting, monitoring agency rehabilitation programs, as well as handling agency termination actions. - Maintains market awareness including competitive developments, through regular agency visitations and participation in Agency Board of Advisors meetings. - Manages the agency management process for the Branch including conducting annual branch agency reviews, monitoring established action plans, prospecting and appointing new agents, and establishing rehabilitation plans or termination actions as required. - Serves as key Branch partner with Home Office Marketing in product/service development and promotion, as well as participates in special projects for the Branch and Home Office. - Operates independently with limited supervision, and serves as a member of the Branch Leadership Team.   In addition, duties in certain branches may include: - Serves as Acadia liaison for assigned Association Programs between respective Association executives and sponsoring agents. - Manages Association Programs to include the oversight of business development, Dividend Plan Valuations, and distribution of dividend returns through producing agents. - Represents Acadia on committees and at hearings dealing with regulatory and legislative issues.
