The Finance Intern acquires and analyzes data along with assisting members of the Business Analysis team with various ongoing projects. Communicates with Finance team and managers. Participates in decision-making process by identifying issues and recommending solutions.

- Assist with planning and executing in-house employee engagement events.
- Work alongside the Employee Empowerment group to determine areas of opportunity and causes to promote.
- Help to coordinate and notify Facilities of in-office needs.
- Take photos of engagement events for use on social media and recruitment materials.
- Prepare communications/presentations for parent company W. R. Berkley.
The Claims Intern will work mainly in an office setting with key team members to learn and participate in learning all aspects of commercial general liability and professional liability claims handling for Admiral insureds over the course of approximately ten weeks.
This summer intern position requires strong analytical skills applied in learning all aspects of the claims handling process through independent study, projects assigned, attendance at bi-weekly Claims Committee meetings, new claims entry and set-up, claim evaluation, and settlement negotiations, up to and including involvement (or attendance virtually) at mediations, depositions, and/or other on-site investigation. The internship will also involve a collaborative group project with interns from other Admiral departments. Other duties and tasks to be assigned in conjunction with the overall internship experience.

The Claims Superintendent - Construction Defect, will be responsible for determining and discharging the company's contractual obligations under its various policy contracts involving coverage analysis, investigation, legal defense, and loss and expense reserving. Responsibilities will include intense coverage analysis, investigation, and management of litigated files.
- Present facts of claims, with recommendations, to committee as necessary on Construction Defect claims.
- Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage.
- Prepare large loss reports where applicable.
- Attend and participate in mediations/trials as necessary.
- Establish appropriate loss and expense reserves. Maintain valid loss and expense reserves based on current investigation and legal discovery.
- Supervise activities of Independent Adjusters, investigators and defense attorneys to ensure that all claims are appropriately handled.
- Adhere to company procedures and Best Practice guidelines as well as case and statutory law requirements when coverage is in question, and/or when paying or denying claims.
- Comply with reporting requirements of treaty and facultative reinsurers.
- Maintain current understanding of various unfair claim practices statutes.
- Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage.
- Participate in broker relations calls/visits as needed.
- Attend industry related seminar workshops and/or courses for continuing education.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
The Actuarial Analyst is primarily responsible for basic actuarial functions, actuarial estimations, and providing overall support to the Department. General functions include providing support in the loss and expense reserving function, pricing guidance, and branch profitability studies.
- Provide support in quarterly analysis of loss and expense reserves.
- Provide support for WRBC in year-end loss reserve opinion and documentation as required for the annual statement.
- Provide support and summaries on reserving issues.
- Provide support in the analysis of segments of the business for claim trends/profitability.
- Perform calculations and assist in responding to Branch requests on business results.
- Assist in the development/maintenance/distribution of actuarial reports and databases.
- Interface with the business analysis unit in Finance for data requests and research.
- Assist and support the Finance Department and WRBC in Schedule P preparation and other reserve areas.
- Assist the Department in the planning/budget process preparation.
- Perform other support duties as assigned.
