The Administrative Assistant provides general administrative support to BTU in all locations.  May support in other areas of the business as needed.   Key functions include but are not limited to the following: - Responsible for general office administrative support, including ordering office supplies, managing incoming and outgoing mail, reception, responding to telephone and email inquiries from internal and external customers. - Manage the Customer Account set up and clearance process. - Use the workflow management system to create work items for new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations. - Support the agency appointment set up and licensing process. - Order underwriting reports, including MVRs and Catastrophe Exposure reports. - Coordinate company events and assist with arrangements for company visitors. The Underwriting Associate, a key contributor within the Berkley Technology Underwriters (BTU) organization, is responsible for analyzing, underwriting and servicing insurance products for an assigned territory.  While this position is in the Underwriting Department, this role also works closely with other departments within the organization to ensure compliance with regulators and company underwriting protocol and guidelines.    Key functions include but are not limited to the following: - Build strong relationships with internal and external customers and colleagues to ensure financial goals including growth, profit, rate and premium retention are attained. - Demonstrate the ability to negotiate, strategize and make sound underwriting decisions within authority. - Review all and analyze endorsement submissions and stay within applicable binding authority. - Drive renewal process, review upcoming renewals, work with producers to obtain and evaluate all underwriting information, prepare and partner for renewal with Underwriting Specialist. - Manage assigned book to achieve budgeted rate, retention and new business goals. - Execute proper pricing components and rating methodologies. - Responsible for account solicitation, risk selection, research and analysis including the corresponding documentation and pricing of BTU insurance products and services for new and existing customers. - Analyze, assess and select risks in accordance with BTU for account rounding goals. - Responds accurately and timely to coverage inquiries from producers. - Stay current with all compliance, procedural and workflow changes. - Work collaboratively and effectively with underwriting team, operations staff, risk management, claims, regulatory, premium audit and BTU corporate management.

The Regional Underwriting Manager will serve as the strategic, operational, and motivational leader of Underwriting in support of delivering profitable growth and providing excellent community, employee, and customer relations.   The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:   Underwriting Management Leadership - Lead underwriting contact within assigned region. - Responsible for strategically building a territory. - Manage profit, loss, growth, rate and retention results for assigned territory - Create new agency relationships and maintain existing relationships. - Lead agency distribution within assigned territory. - Develop marketing strategies. - Underwrite and manage assigned book of business. - Manage and monitor overall pricing practices and targets. - Sales and marketing efforts as needed to build assigned region to include product presentations, agency product training, etc. - Delegate underwriting authority and monitor compliance within assigned region. - Manage treaty reinsurance coverage placement and adequacy - Provide leadership and direction on business opportunities, pricing, retention analysis, loss control needs, and account stewardship - Conduct audits for quality control and conduct training where needed. - Prepare, assign and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports. - Establish development plans for individual team members and direct reports. - Participate in Claim Review Meetings when applicable.   Additional Marketing-Related Functions - Visit and develop rapport with key existing and prospective agents, as appropriate; - 50% travel. Occasional overnight travel.    May perform other functions as assigned.
