The AVP, Claims is responsible for identifying and monitoring high severity and/or complex Casualty claims by participating in handling, reserving and resolution discussions. Keeps Chief Claims Officer informed of significant developments and defensive strategies on severe or complex claims. Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Establishes appropriate initial loss and expense reserves and continue to regularly evaluate the file for adequacy, accuracy and adherence to reserving guidelines.
