Responsibilities

As our intern, you would be part of the IT Governance, Risk and Compliance team and would not just be a participant in team, but will add and champion tremendous value. You will get to work with all members of the IT GRC team as well as the BTS Information Security Department gaining exposure to vulnerability management, architecture, compliance and more.

  • Assisting with Exception Management (i.e., evaluate the risk of technology based on deviations of Company Policy and/or cyber security risk)
  • Support of GRC services, including identifying opportunities for improvement in reducing technology risk through analytics and automation tooling.
    • Capturing metrics across the enterprise, including O/Us to provide trending data on the cybersecurity posture of the company
  • Assist in the execution of technology risk projects focusing primarily on the assessment, design, implementation as well as consulting on various leading practices surrounding Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
  • Ad-Hoc Risk Projects
    • Performing technology risk projects on a specific system or subset of systems.
  • Performing reviews of related IT and Security controls by performing control and risk assessments of processes, procedures, system configurations, etc. in order to document control effectiveness from both a design and operating effectiveness perspective.
  • Documenting IT and Security controls testing results and/or findings, including the gathering and organizing of documentation or evidence collected.

Qualifications

  • Registered undergraduate student pursuing a major in Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems or Data Analytics or related field
  • At least 2 years of college or university coursework completed in cybersecurity, MIS or related fields
  • Strong passion for technology and cybersecurity
  • Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking and quantitative skills with ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Prior internship, co-op, or on or off-campus technical experience preferred, but not required

• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
