The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for the strategy, delivery, and execution of the global technology solutions for Berkley Technology Services (BTS). The role leads the BTS organization, including application development, infrastructure management, project management, and digital development. This position will partner with business leaders and functional leaders to implement improved technology solutions and support current solutions. The role requires deep vendor relationship skills to manage key suppliers while continuing to meet financial objectives. A candidate should have a blend of problem-solving, practical application, and forward-looking perspective to manage and lead this critical function.


  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have led multiple, major, worldwide, technology enabled businesses.
  • 15+ years of technology experience required
  • Minimum 10 years in technology leadership role, with demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design, and development.
  • Highly motivated and innovative IT leader with a track record of delivering business value through use of ERP technologies; experienced with system implementations and creation and development of digital transformation strategies.
  • Experience in developing enterprise IT strategies and roadmaps, working with cross-functional teams in a global organization, and managing teams across a global IT organization is required.
  • Expertise with Information Security and Privacy practices.
  • Proven track record selecting, managing and directing complex vendor relationships
  • Ability to work under the pressure of strict deadlines on multiple projects in a fast-paced, environment.
  • Strong business acumen, understands the role of IT in business enablement and value add.
  • Ability to drive organizational change within and beyond functions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies.
  • Successful experience in leading, coaching, mentoring and managing high-performing teams
  • Ability to independently balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines
  • Highly creative and innovative with an eye for detail
  • A personal motivation and determination to execute and deliver
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, matrix environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology to business leaders, Board members, and others not immersed within the technology world.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19*, unless prohibited by law.
