Responsibilities

The Berkley Regional Shared Services (RSS) Business Analyst II is primarily responsible for reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and documenting the business systems and user requirements for the W.R. Berkley Regional Company Segment.  Additionally, they will help lead specialized projects through the delivery process.

 

Provides end-user support on critical business systems

  • Responds to telephone calls, email and in-person requests for technical support and guidance
  • Acts as the link between business units, technology teams and support teams to ensure the solution delivered meets all business needs.
  • Provides training and documentation on new systems, products, and processes

Creates detailed requirements and system specifications

  • Gathers information and elicits requirements from the business units using various methods
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates system programming and configuration requirements for gaps, issues, and needed clarifications
  • Translates customer language into technical details for hand-off to the development team.

 

Supports testing efforts

  • Reviews test plans to ensure they are complete and accurate
  • Proactively supports the defect management process
  • Develops user acceptance test plans and helps with execution – as needed

 

Provides leadership on specialized projects - PM

  • Facilitates requirements-gathering sessions, drives clarity and removes impediments for the team.
  • Works with Project Manager to break down allocated BA task and prioritizes in accordance with the project plan.
  • Identifies and coordinates with appropriate stakeholders to ensure complete requirements are captured, documented and agreed within timelines specified

 

Collaborates with IT and business resources

  • Coordinates with development teams to ensure clarity of requirements.
  • Actively participates in team discussions, problem solving and developing best practices.
  • Collaborates with team members to provide system documentation and training.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of system support and testing experience in a property casualty insurance environment
  • 4-6 years of property casualty rating and entry and/or system testing experience, with a broad knowledge of insurance procedures and workflow processes
  • The ability to provide guidance to less experienced personnel
  • Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze problems and create effective recommendations
  • Effectively deliver training to end-users and clearly communicate system changes.
  • The ability to facilitate meetings, including requirements-gathering, training, issue resolution, etc.
  • Conduct investigation and research into system errors and discrepancies
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and timeliness in order to meet customer expectations
  • Effective listening, communication, interaction, discretion, and diplomacy skills
  • Performs well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environment
  • The ability to prioritize work load, work on several projects and concurrent tasks, and be able to meet project timelines with limited direction.
  • Effective organization and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to aggressive project deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • Must be fully vaccinated and remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19*, unless prohibited by law.
