Responsibilities

Responsible for producing high quality financial analysis and reporting to assist the business with informed decision making and support our internal and external customers. This position will also participate in the annual budget process and develop trend and forecast modeling. 

 

  • Analyze and compare monthly and quarterly results, metrics and key performance indicators against plan and other benchmarks.
  • Perform month-end close activities and related entries and reconciliations within established deadlines.
  • Conducts insightful variance analysis between actual results and budget/forecasts as part of monthly financial reporting package.
  • Actively participate in development of annual forecast / budget and related management exhibits. 
  • Develop and maintain financial models, trend and scenario analysis to support business with financial and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain scorecard of all Capital Projects and provide status of projects and spend on monthly basis.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline workflow enabling increased focus on analytics.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support our business partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of five (5) years of accounting or financial analysis/ reporting experience and two (2) years Insurance accounting experience. CPA or MBA is a plus.
  • Requires superior analytical skills and a thorough understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to details. Effectively sets priorities, takes accountability and achieves results.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills along with sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Capable of building solid working relationships with peers and management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite are a requirement. SQL Management Studio and spreadsheet modeling skills are a plus.
  • Work may be performed primarily in an office.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
