Responsibilities

This role is our strategic lead for all Marketing & Communications efforts.  They will flow seamlessly from strategy to planning and execution, driving vision and consistent branding while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional teams.  Promotes via current business intake and delivery methods plus future innovation in digital methodologies.  They will develop integrated marketing campaigns and go-to-market strategies, from brief and ideation to content creation to execution to meet business objectives.  Provides leadership and management of professional Marketing & Communications team.

 

Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop, define and implement all Marketing & Communications strategies and goals to support the Company’s objectives.
  • Design, present, plan and execute effective marketing campaigns across channels (traditional, digital, social).
  • Ensure all branding and communications project the company’s unique and consistent “voice”.
  • Provides critical eye for professional, high-end, agent appropriate swag and gifts that uphold and further Nautilus’ premier reputation.
  • Determine, monitor, and analyze KPIs for the marketing department; use data and reports to make data-driven and evidence-based decisions.
  • Oversee all event planning and execution for external Nautilus events – our annual agent convention, our milestone agent destination event, an annual W.R. Berkley agent celebration, customized functions for individual agents, and hosting events related to and in coordination with national industry meetings.

 

External Relationships:

  • Cultivate and nurture agent relationships to include travel to agent offices, presentations, meals/entertainment, and industry events and functions.
  • Listen and provide solutions to our agents’ marketing needs so they have all the tools they need to support and grow their books of business with Nautilus.
  • Represent any and all areas of Nautilus to a wide variety of audiences.

Internal Relationships:

  • Work with W. R. Berkley Marketing & Communications professionals in any and all efforts that require their collaboration.
  • Work with internal business leaders to ensure Marketing is providing creative insight and campaign support to our Production Underwriting and Product teams.
  • Provide creative input and art/communication support to internal business strategy, project and people/culture initiatives.

 

Leadership/Management:

  • Create vision for and lead team of accomplished professionals in art, communications, digital strategy, and events.
  • Cultivate and nurture positive supportive relationships with our team of Marketing & Communications professionals.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, handles all people related needs of the team including recruiting, onboarding, training, recognition, timekeeping, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, and terminations.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication (written & verbal) abilities.
  • Ability to connect and relate to all internal and external stakeholders quickly and credibly.
  • Strong understanding of marketing research and data analysis.
  • Understanding of legal/compliance press release and public communications requirements.
  • Proficiency with generally accepted marketing/graphic/comm systems and tools.
  • Event planning experience preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing effective strategies and business plans for all marketing aspects (branding, product promotion, social media, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree, equivalent coursework or experience in business administration, marketing, communications, or relevant field highly preferred.
  • 10+ years in marketing and/or advertising.
  • 3+ years in the E&S insurance industry.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising a Marketing and Communications team.
