We are looking for an Underwriting Analyst to evaluate risk, solve problems, and develop efficiencies. A day in the life at BerkleyNet:

  • Learn and become knowledgeable about our products, department processes, functionalities and requirements
  • Research, understand and apply decision-making ability when handling customer inquiries
  • Handle multiple priorities with attention to detail such as responding to customer calls, reviewing accounts, and completing transactions
  • Based on authority level, make sound financial decisions on behalf of the company
  • Understand and interpret data to drive efficiencies
  • Work both independently and within a team environment
  • Collaborate with the technology department on various initiatives
  • Serve as a technical resource for the Underwriting department
  • Foster innovative solutions to advance efficiency
  • Utilize analytical skills to contribute to continuous improvement within the department and organization
  • Ownership in a particular function or process with the ability to suggest and implement improvements.


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 2-3 Years’ Experience in Workers Compensation Underwriting Experience
  • Progress on Professional Designations a plus (CPCU, ARM, AIDA, etc.)
  • Travel will be an integral function of this role
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with ‘catch everything’ detail
  • Possess strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with grace under pressure and right-now responsiveness
  • Customer focused with ability to maintain a good phone presence and exercise good judgment
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office products, including Excel
