Responsibilities

The Software Architect is responsible for designing, developing and implementing software solutions to address complex business issues, and providing technical leadership within the IT department.

Qualifications

Required Experiance:

  • Develops and maintains technology strategies, blueprints and application roadmaps
  • Develops and manages IT architecture for assigned programs and projects; examples include:

– Developing an IT architecture that supports program/project delivery

– Managing program/project technology risk

– Contributing to application and technology roadmaps

  • Ensures programs and projects meet functional and non-functional requirements; examples include:

– Leveraging building codes and enforcing compliance with technology and architecture standards

– Ensuring technical quality by conducting architecture and design reviews

– Participating in capacity planning, modeling and testing

  • Manages technical risk, currency and depth of applications
  • Mentors program/project technical talent and provides feedback to program/project people leaders to improve architecture and design capabilities
  • Implements reusable technology solutions that leverage shared assets
  • Harvests intellectual capital that contributes to increased delivery capabilities
  • Manages technical quality through architecture and design reviews
  • Creates new solutions and designs in support of the needs of the business
  • Assists leadership team with estimating costs and technical resource planning for new solutions, technology upgrades and maintenance of application platforms
  • Participates in Communities of Practice (CoPs) as well as industry involvement and standards organizations

 Education Requirments 

Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems or a related degree.
