    The Complex Property Claims Specialist is responsible for handling the companies most complex and/or high-exposure property claims using strong coverage analysis, investigative, evaluation, estimating, loss management and resolution skills.  Responsible for prompt evaluation and reserving of claims.  Uses strong organization, communication, negotiation, and project management skills to effectively manage loss cost.  Effectively manages the customer experience.   Must perform all activities in accordance with the company’s best practices and procedures and legal and regulatory authority. 

    • Handles complex and/or high-exposure claim files from intake to final resolution.  Responsible for timely coverage analysis and communication of coverage positions.  Will coordinate causation investigations and evaluate and reserve loss exposures in a timely manner.  Uses strong project management skills to effectively manage claim expert expenses and set resolution strategies.    Works independently and resolves claims within preset authority levels.  Re-evaluates exposures and reserves during the life of the claim.  Correctly enters claim data into claim and related business systems for reporting purposes.  Confers with Claims management to inform, solicit input and strategize and updates large loss and reinsurance reports.  
    • Provides technical advice and guidance to claims staff through effective coaching and mentoring.  Effectively communicates through presenting claim files during Large Loss conferences designed to inform highest levels of the organization loss exposures and resolution strategies. 
    • Participates in the claim file audit process to assure compliance with company policies and procedures. Participates in special projects designed to improve organizational performance. Coordinates and conducts technical training for claims staff.  


    Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Business and/or insurance, construction, or engineering; or 10 years related experience with high-level, complex claims adjusting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


    Position can be worked from a remote location.

    • High sense of urgency, action-oriented and strong work ethic.
    • Ability to travel overnight as needed for training, auditing or claims handling.
