    Investigates low to medium level commercial auto and general liability claims that involve auto material/physical damage, rental and total losses.  Must also be able to adjust non-complex third party general liability property damage claims in a prompt, equitable manner by analyzing coverage, liability and damages; evaluating reserves; and negotiating settlement or conclusion of claim.  Responsible for the handling of claims in accordance with established authorizations and claims best practices.


    • Examines and analyzes policies, contracts and claim forms to determine coverage. 
    • Investigates loss in a prompt manner by telephone, correspondence or on-site investigation to determine the extent of the Company’s liability.  Requests necessary reports, e.g., police reports, fire reports, property damage inspections, etc.  Utilizes independent adjusting services to assist in the claim investigation or estimating as appropriate.  Evaluates property damage losses including review of repair estimates, total loss evaluations, supplement reviews, subrogation reviews, salvage values and cargo assistance. 
    • Determines and reports on potential salvage vehicles, mobile equipment, personal property and miscellaneous salvage recovery to the organization’s subrogation unit or authorized salvage vendors.  Completes all title work and collects proceeds from buyer.  Establishes accurate claim reserves and re-evaluates exposures and reserves during the life of the claim.  Correctly enters claim data and file documentation into claim and related systems for reporting purposes.  Negotiates settlement or conclusion of claim. 



    Bachelor's degree; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • The inside Claims Representative may be required to travel on an occasional basis
    • The field Claims Representative must have the ability to travel on a frequent basis
    • Regularly and consistently demonstrates commitment to company values and guiding principles.
    • Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and related claims and business software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
