    Responsibilities

    W. R. Berkley Corporation is looking for an enthusiastic experienced meeting and event planner to organize and support internal meetings and corporate events from conception to completion.  The successful candidate will be responsible to provide outstanding customer service, organize and support memorable corporate events that meet quality expectations in strict time frames. 

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Plan, organize and assist in supporting internal meetings ranging in size from 5 – 75.
    • Arrange food, transportation and all related details to support successful small to large internal group meetings
    • Manage all aspects of the event planning process, including collaboration with subcontractors, venue identification, contract negotiation, equipment and audio visual rentals, menu development, printing and design of all collateral materials and budget tracking.
    • Arrange and organize facilities and details such as attendee database, hotel room manifest, décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, and promotional material for customer events ranging in size from 100 – 300 attendees.
    • Collaborate with internal departments such as marketing and other members of staff to gain support in executing successful events
    • Financial reporting to include tracking of ROI, engagement and client feedback to measure results, assess opportunities to improve and optimize future events

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality management, marketing or related areas
    • Minimum of 7 of years related experience, including large-scale events
    • Successful experience working directly with high-level executives and staff to ensure event success
    • Partner closely with business leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment to meet goals
    • Superior communication and analytical skills
    • Strong leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiating skills
    • Proficient with word, excel and event registration software
    • Willingness to travel up to 15%
    • Occasional evening and weekend work is required
