    Responsibilities

    •  Learn how our business works at all levels of the organization and customer base (internal, policyholders, agents, etc.).
    • Participate in planning the user experience for all aspects of our online presence.
    • Take a leading role in designing the design and mechanics of our customer portal and future offerings.
    • Design and implement projects (research, sketch, code, test, roll out), involving stakeholders across the organization.
    • Stay on top of trends and new technology - Identify future tools and strategy, and create the business case for adoption and implementation.
    • Work closely with the IT and Marketing teams to manage timelines, resources, and communication strategy.

    Qualifications

    Requirements

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design or related field.
    • 1-2 years UX design experience (internships may be considered as experience).
    • Proficient in HTML, Javascript, and CSS.
    • Experience in front-end design frameworks such as Bootstrap, Semantic-UI and Foundation.
    • Experience in JS frameworks like jQuery, Angular, React and Ember.
    • Experience using UX design best practices to design solutions.
    • Understanding of user research, wireframing, and personas.
    • Be able to work effectively across the organization, understanding the needs of our different customer bases and designing solutions that fit our business.
    • Be passionate about user experience and design.
    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with all customers.
    • Strong work ethic with good time management with ability to work with diverse teams and lead meetings.
    • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently and take appropriate initiative to drive forward the development process.

     

    Preferred

     

    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite tools (Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign).
    • Experience creating mobile and responsive design (strongly preferred).
    • Experience with user research, wireframing, and personas.
