    Responsibilities

    Lead and direct sales for Berkley Fire & Marine Underwriters by using creative strategic thinking and your drive to bring opportunities to fruition!  We are looking for an entrepreneurial spirited Vice President to build a strong sales culture and participate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans to grow our business. 

     

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Developing and implementing company sales strategies and initiatives that support long term profitable growth.
    • Development of alternative distribution resources
    • Direct to the buyer strategy and implementation
    • Leading strategic planning sessions with the field at Key Distributors.
    • Partnering closely with the CUO, COO, CO and TUM's to develop strategies for territories, appetite, and agency management.
    • Developing and managing key production/sales metrics that drive production, agency management and the sales culture. 
    • Overseeing daily sales activity and setting specific monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals.
    • Anticipating and reacting to market trends and identifying opportunities for growth.
    • Influencing and modeling behavior for Underwriting staff to work together with sales staff to achieve growth goals and support the execution of sales initiatives.
    • Developing and leveraging analytics to identify and capitalize on opportunities for efficiencies and growth.
    • Participating in industry associations and events representing the company.
    • Developing and overseeing a sales training program for existing and new employees.
    • Leading in-house seminars and workshops to help improve the effectiveness of the company sales effort.
    • Continually improving the sales organization by enhancing discipline, accountability, productivity, effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
    • Managing expense budgets to maximum effectiveness.
    • Monitoring customer, market and competitor activity to give feedback to the leadership team and company departments.
    • Managing and developing key customer relationships.

    Qualifications

    Are you our ideal candidate?

    • Ten years Sales Management experience with at least four years' experience in a selling role
    • Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience with Inland marine and property underwriting background preferred
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Strategic thinker to develop and execute tactical plans
    • Drive and passion to achieve success
