Associate Underwriter – Management Liability

The Associate Underwriter, Management Liability supports the growth, profitability, and performance of the Management Liability portfolio. This role is responsible for underwriting and managing an assigned book of business, evaluating risks, maintaining strong broker relationships, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal Management Liability business within assigned authority.
• Evaluate submissions, pricing, coverage, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations to determine risk acceptability.
• Build and maintain strong broker relationships to drive business growth and enhance market presence.
• Serve as a primary contact for assigned brokers, resolving service issues and providing responsive support.
• Negotiate coverage terms, identify new business opportunities, and achieve production goals.
• Apply underwriting, pricing, and risk selection expertise to support profitable growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to underwriting, operational, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of Management Liability underwriting experience.
• 1-2+ years of Excess & Surplus (E&S) underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of E&S lines and wholesale brokerage distribution.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer-service orientation and attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of wholesale agency networks preferred.
• RPLU designation is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant insurance industry experience.
