Responsibilities

The Communications & Innovation Specialist supports Berkley’s enterprise communications platforms and collaboration ecosystem, including the Enterprise Intranet and innovation platforms and resources. This role combines content strategy, digital workplace communications, knowledge management, analytics, and platform governance to enhance communication effectiveness, collaboration, and information accessibility across the organization.

 

• Own the day-to-day management, optimization, governance, and continuous improvement of Berkley’s Enterprise Intranet experience
• Manage all intranet content (images, video, written content, links, and audio/podcasts) in the SharePoint O365 environment
• Monitor user adoption, engagement trends, and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement
• Oversee intranet design elements, including content categories and placement, graphics and imagery, and overall user experience
• Source content from corporate practice groups and businesses
• Monitor the Berkley website and businesses’ social media channels for additional content
• Write and edit copy as necessary; obtain approvals, review drafts, and secure final sign-off
• Upload content and manage the process to get content live on the intranet
• Oversee static content by updating descriptions, links, and related information
• Provide guidance on intranet enhancements and emerging trends
• Monitor user feedback and recommendations and respond in a timely and thoughtful manner
• Analyze key metrics and run reports on intranet performance and usage
• Develop internal marketing plans to promote the intranet site and employee training
• Monitor and upgrade templates for internal practice group pages and partner with designated team members on content maintenance and enhancements
• Create a governance guide for the Enterprise home page and other intranet sites
• Implement ongoing education for employees, businesses, and practice groups on intranet best practices and how to maximize value from the platform
• Onboard and train new businesses on how to create and effectively use their individual intranet sites in conjunction with the enterprise site
• Collaborate with HR, Innovation, and corporate training and education teams to coordinate internal promotion of activities
• Maintain the enterprise calendar
• Monitor effective benchmarks and best practices for measuring the impact of internal communication campaigns
• Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of communication campaigns to maximize results
• Liaise with the BTS Collaboration and User Experience team
• Monitor trends in corporate intranet/O365 tools, applications, design, and strategy
• Further develop and maintain the Industry Resources page on the Enterprise Intranet
• Maintain the SPARK! innovation platform and manage updates
• Assist new businesses and innovation leaders with SPARK! setup and training and provide troubleshooting support
• Manage SPARK! Learning Center and I-Lab content
• Assist in the development of Innovation Challenges
• Assist in the creation and distribution of the monthly Berkley Innovation newsletter
• Prepare monthly Docebo reports to support innovation tracking and reporting
• Maintain Microsoft Teams channels and support ad hoc reporting and data cleanup as needed
• Engage with vendors through biweekly meetings to review updates, address questions, and track next steps
• Oversee user and platform support related to communications and innovation tools
• Perform other related duties and support special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

• 3–5 years’ experience in internal communications, digital communications, intranet management, or related fields
• Experience managing SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and other Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms
• Experience with Excel
• Experience using analytics to evaluate communication effectiveness and user engagement
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Comfort level with AI tools, such as Microsoft CoPilot
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to quickly learn new technology and systems
• Experience with Hootsuite, Ideawake, and Docebo preferred

 

Education Requirement


Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, business, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
