Responsibilities

As Vice President, Product Development, you will lead cross‑functional teams in the design, development, regulatory filing, and maintenance of insurance products - including rules, forms, and supporting documentation. You'll oversee product programming requirements and ensure timely preparation and submission of associated filing materials. Additionally, you will manage project execution, funding, compliance, and progress to enable successful market delivery and provide expert technical support across the organization.

We'll count on you to: 

  • Define the strategy, design, and development of insurance products, including forms, rules, rating structures, and underwriting requirements.
  • Provide leadership to cross‑functional teams, ensuring collaboration and accountability throughout product development and deployment.
  • Own end‑to‑end product initiatives, from requirements and drafting to programming facilitation, filing, and post‑launch monitoring.
  • Manage resource needs and funding approvals to support product development, filings, and implementation.
  • Validate product designs for regulatory and market compliance, ensuring accuracy and consistency across jurisdictions.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory filings, including forms, rules, exhibits, and timelines.
  • Support programming and system implementation, translating product requirements into technical specifications and ensuring accurate delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and risks, providing technical expertise to ensure timely, compliant, high‑quality product delivery.

Qualifications

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing large teams.
  • 10+ years of underwriting and product development experience. 
  • Product design and product management experience.
  • Property and Casualty experience, including all lines.
  • CPCU preferred.
  • Advanced-level knowledge of insurance products/coverage, market segments and marketplace.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading change.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen, sound business judgment, and capable of effectively communicating with a diverse range of individuals and teams.
  • Strong aptitude for analyzing and translating data.
  • Able to travel up to 10-15%.
