Responsibilities

The Premium Audit Intern will support the department by processing a variety of audits and assisting with administrative and operational tasks across the audit workflow. Throughout the internship, the intern will rotate through all areas of the Premium Audit department and gain additional exposure to the Finance team.

  • Review and analyze incoming audit documents for completeness; log, upload, and route them to internal audit staff.
  • Determine appropriate audit type and ordering requirements.
  • Process vendors submitted physical audits.
  • Process estimated audits.
  • Process simple sales audits and closed‑even audits.
  • Manage requests to reopen physical audits.
  • Handle incoming vendor requests, including cooperation letters, address updates, and insured/agent contact information.
  • Research policy files and returned mail to identify correct contact information and update internal systems accordingly.
  • Support the audit email inbox by uploading, logging, and assigning incoming audits received via email, fax, or scanned mail.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries by phone and email, and route communications appropriately to auditors, collections, or other departments.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required. 1 year insurance-related experience or training to include basic knowledge of insurance policy and premium transactions preferred.
  • Completion of general insurance courses or general accounting courses preferred.
  • Must have a strong customer service background, working in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Must have detail-oriented organization skills
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments.
  • Must have knowledge and basic proficiency of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel and E-mail
