Under direct supervision, the Actuarial Intern will be assigned to projects to provide research, analysis and insights to support pricing, reserving, and portfolio management for excess and surplus insurance or specialty admitted products.
Key Functions/Duties of Position:
Providing pricing and loss rating support to underwriting divisions
Contributing to current reserving projects
Contributing to annual program reviews for casualty divisions
Assisting with management reporting and portfolio management functions such as rate change reporting and aggregation analyses

Education Requirement:
Actively enrolled sophomore, junior or senior student in four-year college degree program required, or recent college graduate
Completed college coursework in one of more study areas: insurance, financial mathematics, economics, probability and statistics required
Successful completion of one or more CAS exams preferred
Qualifications:
Ability to take direction from Actuary
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
Ability to monitor own work to ensure quality and meet deadlines
Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information effectively
Sound knowledge of internet search engines, databases and how to optimize the search
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Computer Proficiency using databases (SQL) and spreadsheets (Excel)
