The Operating Unit Business Analyst serves as a strategic liaison between the Operating Unit (OU) and delivery teams ensuring that technology solutions align with both enterprise and OU-specific goals. This role is responsible for capturing, articulating, and advocating for OU requirements, supporting the transition from legacy systems to enterprise or segment products, and maintaining visibility into the OU’s technology roadmap.
- Represent the OU in cross-functional planning and prioritization efforts.
- Elicit and document business requirements, including core product build, enhancements and implementations; business process workflows, and identified opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze business requirements to verify clarity and completeness with business owners; validate every requirement gathered belongs within the scope of project or assignment by comparing it to the stated business need & objective; confirm & document assumptions and constraint
- Define and present OU-specific requirements to BTS for Program Increment (PI) consideration.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business needs are accurately captured and translated into technical solutions.
- Partner with ESTech Product Owners to facilitate the OU’s transition from legacy systems to enterprise or segment products.
- Identify change management needs and support adoption strategies.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and optimization of the OU’s existing technology stack.
- Monitor system performance and coordinate issue resolution.
- Maintain a comprehensive OU roadmap that includes enterprise and segment product initiatives.
- Ensure alignment between OU goals and ESTech strategic objectives.
- Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, fostering clear communication and shared understanding.
- Participate in planning sessions, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies.
Required Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, or custom business applications.
- Familiarity with data modeling, process mapping, and workflow design.
- Understanding of API integrations, data flows, and system dependencies.
- Ability to interpret and work with technical documentation and solution architecture.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and PI planning frameworks.
