Responsibilities

The 2026 Summer Actuarial Intern will be responsible for the following:

 

  • The person in this role will be part of a diverse team, majority of which are credentialed actuaries.
  • The person in this role will utilize their effective communication and technical skills to support various actuarial functions of the organization and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
  • The person in this role will gain hands-on experience as a reinsurance actuary, by working closely with a group of experience actuarial professionals.
  • The person in this role will also have exposure to other functions of a reinsurance company, such as Underwriting, Reinsurance Accounting, Claims, etc.
  • Work closely with underwriters and senior actuaries to analyze and price reinsurance submissions and provide recommendations.
  • Participate in discussion with underwriters and senior management to help them understand the conclusions and the key assumptions built into the pricing analysis.
  • Assist in developing, enhancing and managing pricing models.
  • Assist in updating actuarial parameters through researching internal and external data sources.
  • This internship program can be arranged between 10 to 12 weeks in the summer of 2026.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in an actuarial science or related field of study
  • Strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills
  • Intellectual curiosity is crucial
  • Interested in pursuing an actuarial career
  • Completion of 1-2 CAS/SOA exams preferred
