Responsibilities

The Accounting Summer Intern (Summer 2026) will perform the following duties:

 

  • Perform a variety of financial activities with respect to the financial close process as well as entering data into a sub-ledger system.
  • Assist in special projects, including but not limited to data storage and AI/Bot data review.
  • Run detail inquiries out of the general ledger and update necessary reports for input into sub-ledger.
  • Submit invoices to centralized AP Unit for processing and payment.
  • Update and review monthly general ledger to sub-ledger reconciliations and perform analysis as requested.
  • Assist with data storage activities, including scanning required files and shredding any files not necessary to be scanned.
  • Monitor shared mailboxes and create BPMi instances as needed.
  • Apply cash as needed in sub-ledger system.
  • Assist with the AI/Bot implementation for Aon, including verifying list of Aon references to Aon invoices and verifying Bot invoice data to the Aon statement.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • This position will be in the office 4 days a week in Stamford, CT.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing either an associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including highly proficient Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with others effectively.
  • Works well under pressure with a strong ability to solve problems.
  • Delivers results while demonstrating flexibility and accountability.
  • Goal oriented, highly organized and can work independently.
  • Skilled at time management and the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results.
  • A passion for learning.
