Responsibilities

As SVP, you will lead IT, Customer Experience, Risk Management, and Operations to deliver exceptional customer experience and operational effectiveness and excellence. This executive role drives strategic initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business performance. You will oversee cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with company goals, innovation strategies, and financial targets.

 

We'll count on you to:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in IT, Customer Service, Risk Management, and Operations, ensuring timely delivery of initiatives within budget while driving measurable impact on growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Foster global alignment across departments, creating a unified approach to strategy execution and continuous improvement.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to monitor performance, identify trends, and proactively resolve operational challenges with precision and agility.
  • Partner with other senior leadership to shape and execute technology and service strategies that support both current business goals and future innovation.
  • Champion customer-centric innovation, continuously enhancing the experience for clients and agents through new products, services, and capabilities.
  • Oversee IT strategic vendor relationships, from contract negotiation to implementation and performance management, ensuring value delivery and accountability.
  • Design and implement a multi-year roadmap for IT, Customer Experience, Risk Management, and Operations, aligning priorities with enterprise objectives and adapting to evolving market needs.
  • Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control, to support sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
  • Drive talent strategy, overseeing recruitment, development, performance management, and organizational design to build high performing, engaged teams.
  • Communicate complex strategies and outcomes across the organization, translating technical and operational insights into actionable business decisions.
  • Lead and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives, managing high-impact projects that shape the future of Berkley One’s operations and customer experience.
  • Other strategic projects and initiatives as directed.

Qualifications

What you need to have:

  • Experience
    •  Minimum ten years leadership experience including:
      • P&C, preferably high-net-worth
      • Leading and/or building operational capability, efficiency and effectiveness that leads to competitive differentiation
      • Managing high performing teams and developing team members
  • Industry experience:  Minimum of two years of underwriting experience in high-net-worth personal lines.
  • Flexible and Mobile: Willingness to travel as needed, including overnight trips, and to work flexible hours to support clients across time zones.
  • Tech-Savvy: Demonstrates exceptional proficiency with technology and underwriting tools.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for both insureds and agents, with a passion for delivering exceptional brand experience and advocating for customer needs.
  • Strong Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences and situations.
  • Composed and Organized: Maintains calm under pressure, demonstrates integrity, and follows through on commitments with precision and professionalism.
  • Collaborative Challenger: Comfortable questioning the status quo while working effectively with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
