Responsibilities

The Identity and Access Management Systems Engineer is responsible for all IAM related activities and architecture, including support and care of existing IAM systems. Design and build new systems, working closely with shared services teams, applications teams, and business units to meet support and project goals.

Identity & Access Management (IAM):

  • Manage user identities and access to cloud and on-premises resources using Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Conditional Access policies to ensure secure access.
  • Automate user provisioning and de-provisioning processes for efficiency and compliance.
  • Integrate IAM solutions with Microsoft 365, Azure, and other SaaS applications.
  • Enable and support Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across platforms.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on sign-in activity and security events for compliance and risk management.

Directory & Certificate Services:

  • Administer Active Directory Domain Services and Certificate Lifecycle Management (including AD CS).
  • Manage networking services such as DHCP, DNS, and IP Address Management (IPAM).

 

Security & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure IAM systems meet organizational security standards.
  • Utilize SIEM tools (e.g., Microsoft Log Analytics) for monitoring and incident response.
  • Maintain documentation for issues, resolutions, and system configurations.

 

Automation & Scripting:

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for IAM automation and process improvement.
  • Integrate with REST APIs for advanced IAM functionality.

 

Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with shared services, application teams, and business units to deliver IAM solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide technical support as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting and issue resolution.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Research and evaluate emerging IAM technologies and standards.
  • Mentor and cross-train team members on IAM best practices.

Adhere to ITIL standards for incident, request, and change management.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 yearsof hands-on experience engineering and supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Entra ID suite
  • Experience with Certificate Lifecycle Management, specifically using Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS).
  • Familiarity with Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)and core directory management tasks.
  • Understanding of networking servicessuch as DHCP, DNS, and IP Address Management (IPAM).
  • 1–3 yearsof experience implementing and supporting authentication protocols and tools, including:
  • SAML
  • ADFS or other federation services
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Auth0 or similar identity platforms
  • Basic proficiency in scripting and automation, preferably using:
  • PowerShell
  • REST APIs
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience and/or alternative qualifications will be considered.
