As our IT Core Delivery Lead / Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will be responsible for orchestrating the delivery of Berkley One’s critical technology initiatives within its core applications value stream. This role is focused on end‑to‑end delivery leadership, flow, alignment, and execution.  You will operate as a transformational delivery leader, enabling predictable outcomes while continuously improving how work flows from idea to production. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, Engineering, QA, and Business Leaders to align priorities, manage dependencies, surface risks early, and remove systemic impediments.  This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, can scale Agile practices, and is comfortable acting as the connective tissue across teams, leaders, and vendors.

What You Can Expect

  • A culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • High visibility with senior leadership and cross‑functional partners
  • Opportunity to shape and mature Berkley One’s delivery operating model
  • Meaningful influence over how a large, complex, and ever-evolving backlog is planned and delivered
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including PTO, wellness programs, profit sharing, 401(k), paid parental leave, employee stock purchase plan, and continuing education

We'll count on you to:

  • Lead end‑to‑end technology delivery across planning, scoping, resourcing, execution, and release, ensuring predictable and high‑quality outcomes.
  • Own and manage the delivery roadmap in close partnership with business leadership, balancing priorities, capacity, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Act as a primary delivery partner to business stakeholders, translating strategic objectives into executable plans and measurable results.
  • Drive backlog ownership and flow, facilitating prioritization, refinement, and planning ceremonies to keep teams focused on the highest‑value work.
  • Provide clear delivery forecasting, including level‑of‑effort estimates, schedule commitments, and cost tracking to ensure alignment with leadership expectations
  • Enable Agile and SAFe‑aligned delivery practices, supporting planning, execution, and continuous improvement while removing risks and impediments.
  • Leverage AI‑enabled tools and techniques to improve delivery efficiency, including accelerating planning, analysis, reporting, risk identification, and execution workflows.
  • Balance strategic initiatives with ongoing operational and maintenance demand in a fast‑changing environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems, and delivery efficiency, driving pragmatic solutions that deliver real value.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across business and IT through clear communication, transparency, and reliable execution.
  • Continuously improve delivery performance through retrospectives, metrics, and feedback‑driven process enhancements.

Qualifications

What you need to have:

  • 3+ years’ experience managing the delivery of technical solutions.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an Information Technology or consulting organization with proven experience partnering with client groups and managing multiple projects and parallel delivery streams.
  • Excellent Project Management skills, including planning, scoping, resource allocation and project tracking.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) methodologies.
  • Insurance industry experience, personal lines preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills. Your communication style is flexible to the situation and audience.

What makes you stand out:

  • Calm under pressure. You have exceptional organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks. You are comfortable challenging norms and recommending creative solutions.
  • You are a master collaborator. Being able to bridge the gap between IT and business, to understand business priorities and system constraints will be one of your superpowers.
  • A love and passion for matching business needs to process and optimization. You will be implementing new tools and communication vehicles to keep teams informed and to optimize the SDLC process and improve quality.  You can identify bottlenecks and quality issues and propose solutions.
