This role involves frequent travel and occasional in-office presence in Boston. Therefore, it is best suited for candidates based in the Greater Boston area.

Responsibilities

As a VP, Agency Experience Manager, you will be a key contributor to the growth and evolution of the Berkley One brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating strong, productive relationships with agency and networking partners, driving strategic growth initiatives, supporting brand development, and leading regional team members. Ideal candidates will bring proven experience in marketing strategy, business development, relationship management, and people leadership.

 

The position encompasses a broad range of strategic and operational duties, with decision-making authority across assigned territories. Key functions include:

 

Agency Management & Growth

  • Develop and execute agency management and distribution strategies to achieve or exceed growth and profitability targets by state and by agent/broker.
  • Identify, appoint, and onboard new agent/broker partners who align with Berkley One’s growth objectives.
  • Evaluate and manage underperforming agencies, implementing improvement plans or transitioning them out as needed.
  • Lead comprehensive agency business planning, including metrics such as new business generation, retention, hit ratios, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with agencies to assess progress against established goals.

Business Development & Brand Building

  • Drive initiatives related to lead generation, networking, event planning, campaign execution, and overall brand development.
  • Cultivate Centers of Excellence (COE) relationships within the assigned territory to enhance market presence.
  • Gather and disseminate market intelligence, broker insights, and competitive analysis to inform broader organizational strategy.
  • Maintain a travel schedule averaging 60% weekly within the assigned territory to support relationship-building and business development efforts.

Regional Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor employees within the assigned region, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Berkley One’s values and strategic goals.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to direct reports.
  • Align regional team efforts with broader organizational initiatives, ensuring consistent execution and collaboration across functions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • In partnership with Inside Sales and Underwriting teams:
    • Provide strategic guidance on quotes and support new business acquisition for agency partners.
    • Monitor and analyze agency financial performance, adjusting tactics to optimize revenue and reinforce brand positioning.
    • Facilitate seamless collaboration between agency partners and internal Berkley One teams to ensure exceptional service delivery.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals.

  • Industry Experience: At least ten years of successful agency management experience (high-net-worth insurance experience preferred but not required).

Education

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including:

• Base Salary Range: $250,000 to $295,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus
• Benefits include: Health, dental, vision, dental, life, disability, wellness, paid time off, 401(k) and profit-sharing plans

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
