Responsibilities

Operations Specialist is a shared resource across all of Berkley Financial Specialists and Berkley Crime lines of business.  The primary function of this role is to provide support to the Vice President of Business Operations in pursuit of operational efficiency.  This includes ownership of tactical operational support across the organization as well as collaboration with various teams on strategic projects.

 

  • User Acceptance Testing – rigorous functional and regression testing of policy administration, workflow, and other support systems to ensure that new functionality works as desired and validate existing functionality, preventing serious business disruptions; End to End testing coordination for system changes that impact multiple systems or downstream data warehouse repositories
  • Administration – frontline support as a subject matter expert for policy administration, workflow, and other support systems to answer questions and help users troubleshoot systems issues
  • Documentation – responsible for maintenance of internal Workflow Handbook (Operations, Underwriting, and Claims) as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) files for offshore resources
  • Coordinate forms management for all Lines of Business/Product including maintaining up-do-date wording in designated library and testing/implementation in policy administration system
  • Onboarding: New User Orientation to policy administration, workflow, and other support systems (full training to be arranged/provided by hiring manager), Support Hiring Managers with IT set-up or general onboarding process
  • General Support – IT Troubleshooting (distribution lists, shared mailboxes, etc.)
  • Innovation – participate in cross-functional innovation teams to develop innovation behaviors/skills and drive positive change; assist in coordinating use cases and resources to nurture AI adoption across the company
  • Ad Hoc Projects – support special projects when needed and subject to supervisor direction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university (preferred).
  • Three or more years of insurance industry/related experience and/or training.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other related programs.

  • Familiarity with User Acceptance Testing processes, creating workflow documentation, OneNote, and Excel/Power BI (preferred).

• Base Salary Range: 72k-$85k
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus
