We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced claims professional to supervise a team handling complex Environmental and Professional Liability claims. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to ensure timely and accurate resolution of claims while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.

 

Key functions include but are not limited to the following:

 

• Supervise a team of claims adjusters managing Environmental and Professional Liability claims, including Pollution Legal Liability, Contractors Pollution Liability, and various other exposures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring consistent application of coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, and resolution strategies
• Monitor claim handling performance and compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including underwriting, legal, actuarial, and risk management teams to support strategic initiatives and improve claims outcomes.
• Participate in audits, reporting, and data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
• Handle a small caseload of high-severity or high-profile claims as needed.
• Support training and development initiatives within the department.
• Train & coach examiners as appropriate and necessary to ensure their competency.
• Attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials and other legal proceedings as appropriate.
• Post timely and accurate, loss and expense reserves and reevaluate exposures regularly during the life of a claim

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Professional designations preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Environmental and/or Professional Liability claims.
• 5+ years management experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
• Ability to think outside of the box to solve problems.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Commercial Claims Experience

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role include:
• Base Salary Range: $85,000 – $160,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
