The Agency Compliance Analyst is responsible for independently performing core regulatory compliance services in a timely and efficient manner for the Agency Compliance Team of W.R. Berkley Corporation. Reporting to the Manager of the Agency Compliance Team, the Agency Compliance Analyst completes various agency requests including responding to inquiries, handling agency/producer appointments, terminations, and other agency related requirements as needed to the businesses served. This requires adherence to state requirements and any changes, strong knowledge of the products/services, and handling state renewal appointments, all with thoroughness, professionalism, accuracy and as identified for best practices to meet the needs of the business.
The Agency Compliance Analyst will perform the following responsibilities:
• Responsible for independently performing agency/producer requests, researching agency inquiries and communicating with both internal/external customers
• Manage onboarding process of new agencies, new producers, and any renewal requirements as identified, including the agency contract issuance process
• Review/research any state changes related to the appointment/termination process and identify potential impacts to the process and/or resources (advanced knowledge of the tools); may interact with the vendor
• Monitors state invoices for renewal appointments, submits payments adhering to the state due dates & Berkley requirements, and completes calculation process for allocations.
• Assist with company appointments for approved producers utilizing state specific requirements through the applicable systems and maintaining all proper documentation per requirements
• Communication to agency confirming actions via telephone, written and/or electronic communication and responding to agency inquiries
• Prepare and maintain all proper documentation according to state requirements and company procedures
• Complete all required data input to data sources as identified and confirm validation with both interfaces and vendor database
• Annual maintenance and follow up of required agency documentation, i.e., agency profiles, proof of E & O, licenses, etc.
• Adherence to state requirements, accurate processing of requests, and timeliness of responses per guidelines
• Some travel is required throughout the year to attend team meetings, and meet with internal customers for special project work
• Other duties as assigned
• Minimum 1-3 years insurance-related experience.
• Prior legal or regulatory compliance experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple assignments/projects independently.
• Must be able to proficiently use Microsoft suite of products: Word; Excel; Outlook; Teams.
• Knowledge of Compliance research tools, Vertafore products or similar producer services required.
• Must have good organization skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Must have strong analytical skills.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.
• Willingness to learn, show flexibility in work environment, and maintain professionalism.
• Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values and guiding principles.
Education Requirement
• Associates Degree preferred.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
