Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal submissions of assigned accounts while maintaining Berkley Offshore Underwriting Standards
  • Correspond with brokers to gather information needed to evaluate risk characteristics, financials, loss experience, etc.
  • Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to producers in accordance with established service standards.
  • Proactively support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key producers, clients and other relevant

  • Prepare Underwriting “frontsheets” for data entry.
  • Prepare CAT Aggregation worksheets for transmittal to London office for RDS modeling.
  • Prepare rate benchmarking data on new and renewal business.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in underwriting profitable business.
  • Strong understanding of the Offshore Energy Market and product line.
  • Ability to assess risk exposures and natural hazards relevant to the offshore and onshore line of business.
  • Established relationships with brokers at peer group level and developing reputation within the local market.
  • Computer experience with basic Microsoft© business programs.
  • Knowledge of accounting or balancing of accounts
  • BA/BS degree in a related course of study

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including:
• Base Salary Range: $85,000-$140,000

• Benefits include: Health, dental, vision, dental, life, disability, wellness, paid time off, 401(k) and profit-sharing plans.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
