Responsibilities

Berkley Entertainment is seeking a Commercial Claims Examiner. In this position, you will  review, evaluate and process commercial property, commercial auto, general liability, or inland marine claims of minor to moderate complexity or severity in multiple jurisdictions.

This role is located in our Irving TX office, or remotely for a highly qualified candidate.

 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of minor to moderate complexity or severity Sports and Entertainment related Inland Marine, Property, Auto, or General Liability in multiple jurisdictions. 
  • Investigate new claims to determine coverage, liability and damages and may be responsible for managing vendors that assist in these investigations and evaluations.
  • Will primarily be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in film and entertainment related interruption and Extra Expense claims.
  • Is responsible for determining and satisfying jurisdictional reporting requirements and claim handling compliance.
  • Ensures claims are escalated and reported according to internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the claim is timely and adequately reserved and will evaluate each claim for subrogation potential.
  • May be responsible for evaluating financial records to analyze extra expense losses to determine what is owed under various policy terms and conditions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or economics preferred.
  • 5+ year’s prior claim handling or leadership experience in one or more of the line of businesses referenced above preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to draft communications that are clear, concise, complete and professional.
  • Demonstrates strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.  Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and general computer skills.
