Responsibilities

The Talent Acquisition Leader reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Corporation and provides leadership, support, advocacy and vision to the Talent Acquisition strategy and execution across the organization.  S/he directly manages the TA Team in the United Sates and Europe and provides consultative advice to HR Business Partners regarding Talent Acquisition in Canada, Latin America and AMEA as needed.  As needed s/he provides hands on recruitment support to specific Operating Units or Departments with a focus on Executive level roles.  Key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the Talent Acquisition Team for the United States and Europe including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and developing TA team Leaders, TA Partners, TA Coordinators and other colleagues.
  • Setting the overall recruitment strategy for the organization and overseeinging implementation, driving for positive outcomes and results.
  • Tracks and reporting on overall recruitment metrics and proactively identifying areas for process improvement, innovation and opportunities for efficiency and synergy
  • Investigating labor and employment market conditions and shares information with others as appropriate
  • Working closely with colleagues and peers to develop, implement and share best practices
  • Responsible for external vendor selection and productivity, approving invoices for services rendered by them and terminating relationships when warranted.

Qualifications

You possess a thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as a proficiency with Human Resources practices and strategies, and stay current in knowledge of applicable federal, state, local and country specific employment laws and regulations.

 

You also possess:

  • 10+ years of professional and executive level full life cycle recruiting experience ideally on both the corporate recruitment and agency recruitment sides of the business.
  • 5+ years of commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry specific recruiting experience required and ideally on the insurance carrier side of the industry.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing and leading a Talent Acquisition/Recruiting team through various economies and business life cycles. 
  • Previous experience recruiting at large, complex organizations requiring regular interaction with multiple operating units and at all levels in the organization(s).
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems (iCIMS), proficiency working with HRIS systems such (Workday) and maximizing other talent acquisition systems including LinkedIn and other sourcing tools.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate to achieve recruiting results managing and influencing in a decentralized, cross-functional, matrixed environment
  • Ability to function well in fast paced, at time stressful environment, prioritizing and delegating tasks when appropriate while managing multiple complex projects simultaneously under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to make decisions incorporating diverse perspectives
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service, organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Advanced technical capabilities including the use of Excel, PowerPoint and artificial intelligence tools
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 10%)
