Responsibilities

The Commercial Lines Processing Trainer is responsible for the design, planning and implementation of uniform training programs for all Rating users of current and future technical platforms. You'll create and maintain user manuals, written procedures and other documentation for Rating. We'll trust you to provide a high level of training and support by working effectively with the necessary parties and systems and by following the appropriate protocol to ensure results that meet or exceed our service level standards relating to quality, production and time service.

We'll count on you to:

  • Effectively collaborate with the Rating management team to determine the training needs of the Rating department.
  • Design Rater training plan and conduct training sessions covering specified areas for new employees and remedial training for existing Rating team.
  • Support the Rating department by responding to inquiries and training on complex products and coverages.
  • Keep abreast of system enhancements, workflow changes, and new products and procedures as well as new training tools, methods and technology and determine their viability.
  • Maintain rating procedure manuals and develop communications regarding system and/or procedural changes; ensuring a clear understanding and transfer of knowledge.
  • Update Rating department website with updated procedures and training material.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of all equipment, software applications and systems used in support of the position/duties.
  • Participate in the formal Quality Review process and partner with Quality & Compliance Manager to analyze QR results and identify training needs to implement quality management programs.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and provide support where needed.

Qualifications

What you need to have:

  • 3 to 5 years related Insurance industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to travel (up to 10%)
  • Ability to perform all rating duties and possess a high level of rating expertise.

  • Communication skills:

    • Ability to write procedures, manuals, training programs, routine reports; effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of stakeholders.

    • Ability to clearly communicate training goals, objectives and clear instruction

  • Quantitative skills:  
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts and graphs.
  • Technological skills:
    • Strong competence utilizing software applications, various operating systems, multi-line phone systems, electronic communications, and other tools / platforms.
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
    • Problem solving involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Prior experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter
  • History of successful collaboration yet self directed, exercises sound judgment and creativity to plan deliver department goals.
