Claims Examiner – Auto Liability & Property Damage

 

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Claims Examiner to join our Front-Line Auto Liability Claims Department. This role involves managing all aspects of claims handling, including vehicle and property damage channeling, bodily injury, and other complex claims investigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of litigation management across multiple jurisdictions and be comfortable handling claims with exposures exceeding $250,000.

 

Key Functions include but are not limited to:

 

• Manage a full caseload of auto liability claims from assignment through resolution, including vehicle and property damage channeling and investigation.
• Conduct thorough investigations to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and settle property damage and bodily injury claims within assigned authority, or seek appropriate approvals for higher exposures.
• Handle claims involving complex liability and coverage issues, contractual liability, and litigated matters.
• Develop and execute strategic action plans for timely and cost-effective claim resolution.
• Direct and collaborate with defense counsel to ensure effective litigation management.
• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the claims process.
• Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation, including current diaries and large loss reports.
• Ensure compliance with reserving standards, quality audits, closing ratios, expense controls, and Medicare reporting requirements.
• Obtain and maintain all required adjuster licenses within 180 days and complete continuing education (CE) as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Proven experience handling moderate to complex auto liability and property damage claims.
• Strong knowledge of claims investigation techniques and litigation processes.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Active adjuster licenses or ability to obtain within required timeframe.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role include:
• Base Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000
• Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus.

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
