Responsibilities

The successful applicant will lead our distribution efforts for Strategic Accounts nationally and work closely with the Underwriting team. Strategic Accounts include designated aggregators, select relationships, and other unique partnerships that don’t fit neatly into the geographic/regional model. Through their knowledge, contacts, agent/broker visits, and representation of Aspire at trade shows and industry events, Distribution Executives are responsible for promoting Aspire, increasing the consistent flow of quality submissions, and increasing the volume of profitable premium.

 

Responsibilities –     

  • Be an ambassador for Aspire
  • Communicate with our agents in a disciplined cadence – in person, virtually, digitally
  • Understand and share our underwriting appetite, promote Aspire’s value proposition, and solicit submissions
  • Strengthen relationships with appointed/prospective agents
  • Collaborate with underwriters and members of the Strategic Accounts Leadership Team
  • Use tools and data to form engagement plan and prioritize relationships
  • Recommend new tactics and strategies for promoting Aspire and our product portfolio
  • Provide actionable feedback, business intelligence (i.e., competitors, threats to the business, coverage gaps, rate trends, emerging markets, etc.), and “voice of the customer” insights

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Industry experience: 7+ years in commercial insurance; deep understanding of excess & surplus lines insurance
  • Looking for intellectually curious individuals who think creatively, connect dots, and are lifelong learners
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Goal driven. Sense of urgency about results and deadlines. Accountable.
  • Sales skills: executive presence; identifying prospects/segmenting customers; communicating value proposition/coverage lines/underwriting appetite/competitive advantages in entertaining, informative, and memorable ways; following up
  • Analytic and strategic skills: finding targets of opportunity; establishing/achieving goals; using data to drive decisions
  • Track record of building relationships that last: partnering with underwriters; building long-term relationships within the organization and within the industry
  • Professional traits and attributes: high energy; focused; disciplined; positive; charismatic; open to new ideas and new ways of doing things; active listener; adaptive; high integrity
  • Ability to express ideas (verbally and in writing) to inform and persuade stakeholders
  • Knowledge of insurance industry dynamics and trends
  • 60% - 75% travel required

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
