Responsibilities

We have an opportunity for an Underwriting File Analyst to join our Berkley Accident and Health (BAH) team! You will be a member of a cross-functional team consisting of Underwriters, Metrics Analysts, and Clinicians who are responsible for claims file scrutiny and file analysis in an environment that maintains systems that support business workflows. Heavy use of Excel.

 

This position will be based in our West Hartford, CT office working 4 days in the office and 1 day remote

Key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate as a member of an Underwriting team supporting business processes and administrative workflow
  • Perform high level analysis of claims files and place the file into the appropriate repository for analysis
  • Communicate with business stakeholders and management members in the observance of potentially high dollar diagnosis
  • Assess business objectives and consistently deliver results to support advancement of the objectives
  • Participate in discussions regarding the design of user interfaces and workflows
  • Assist with the triaging appropriate claims files for review into a claims analysis platform

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2+ years of work experience working with data and using Excel
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer and business outcomes focused
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of insurance industry preferable
  • Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency with MS Office, heavy emphasis on Excel
