This role will be based in our Urbandale office.  We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so.

Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, you'll primarily be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and documenting the business systems and user requirements for the W.R. Berkley Regional Company Segment.  You will also help lead specialized projects through the delivery process.

We'll count on you to:

  • Work with end users and internal staff to develop and translate business requirements for project deliverables.
  • Answer developer and end user questions through the development life cycle.
  • Provide training and documentation on new systems, products, and processes.
  • Coordinate efforts of third-party vendors, user requests, and systems analysts to support business unit
  • requirements.
  • Extract and manipulate data from existing systems for effective data analysis.
  • Provide leadership on specialized projects, including the facilitation of requirements-gathering sessions, driving clarity, and removing impediments for the team.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide system documentation and training.

Qualifications

What you need to have:

  • 3+ years Business Analyst, System Support, QA or Testing experience
  • 3+ years Property Casualty insurance experience 
  • Software Development Life Cycle experience and investigating system issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written to facilitate meeting and deliver training

What makes you stand out:

  • Bachelor’s degree desired
  • Insurance Underwriting, Rating or Guidewire sytem experience
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate a learning mindset
  • Operate with sense of urgency
  • Experience mentoring less experienced team members
