This role will be based in our Urbandale office.  We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so.

Aa a Business Analyst, you'll primarily be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and documenting the business systems and user requirements for the W.R. Berkley Regional Company Segment.  You will also help lead specialized projects through the delivery process.

We'll count on you to:

• Provide end-user support on critical business systems
  • Respond to telephone calls, email, and in-person requests for technical support and guidance.
  • Act as the link between business units, technology teams, and support teams to ensure the solution delivered meets all business needs.
  • Provide training and documentation on new systems, products, and processes.
• Create detailed requirements and system specifications
  • Gather information and elicit requirements from the business units using various methods.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate system programming and configuration
  • requirements for gaps, issues, and needed clarifications.
  • Translate customer language into technical details for hand-off to the development team.
• Support testing efforts
  • Review test plans to ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • Proactively support the defect management process.
  • Develop user acceptance test plans and help with execution as needed.
• Provide leadership on specialized projects
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, drive clarity, and remove impediments for the team.
  • Work with the Project Manager to break down allocated BA tasks and prioritize in accordance with the project plan.
  • Identify and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure complete requirements are captured, documented, and agreed upon within specified timelines.
• Collaborate with IT and business resources.
  • Coordinate with development teams to ensure clarity of requirements.
  • Actively participate in team discussions, problem-solving, and developing best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide system documentation and training.

What you need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in system support/testing in property casualty insurance.
• 4-6 years in property casualty rating/entry or system testing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Meeting facilitation and training delivery.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
