Nautilus Insurance is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join its growing Light Brokerage team. This role can be located in our Scottsdale off or remotely for a highly qualified candidate.
The Senior Underwriter, Light Brokerage primary job function includes [1] developing a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s appetite in this product space and an industry awareness in relation to opportunities and threats and [2] underwriting, including communicating appetite, rate and underwriting information to assigned agents.
This role can be located in our Scottsdale office or remotely for a highly qualified candidate.

• Excess and Surplus lines background is highly preferred.
• 3+ years experience underwriting casualty products at a senior level required.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Good understanding of the E&S business environment.
• The ability to effectively engage with leaders across the organization
• Applicable knowledge of budgets, forecasting, and metrics.
• Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations.
• Intermediate to Advanced experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and aptitude to learn new applications, as needed.
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to travel to visit agents and attend conventions as necessary.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 5+ years related insurance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPCU, IIA or other insurance related classes recommended.
