The Accounting Manager leads financial operations within a dynamic insurance organization and is responsible for a broad spectrum of financial operations, including receivables and disbursements to ensure accurate reporting, timely collections and efficient payment processing. This role has a strong background in financial operations, financial reporting support and team leadership, with a forward-thinking mindset that embraces the use of AI and automation to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Oversee the full accounts receivable lifecycle, including premium billing, collections, cash application, and reconciliation.
- Manage disbursement processes, including commission payments, insured refunds, and claims payouts.
- Supervise a team of AR/AP specialists and analysts, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and operations teams to provide proactive and responsive customer service that meets all servicing standards.
- Monitor aging reports and implement strategies to reduce average days outstanding and improve cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and insurance regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present financial operations metrics, forecasts, and variance analyses to various stakeholders.
- Support the financial reporting team with required information and analysis for monthly reporting, as well as budgeting and forecasting.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, including the adoption of AI tools and automation technologies to streamline workflows, enhance accuracy, and reduce manual effort.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests related to receivables and disbursements.
- Assist Finance leadership with developing a department strategy to meet BerkleyNet’s goals.
