Responsibilities

We have an opportunity for a Risk Management Supervisor to join our Berkley One team!  You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing the daily operations of the Risk Management specialists and support team. You will oversee the virtual inspection team, all scheduling functions, as well as ensuring efficient processes, and driving continuous improvement within the department.

Key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily risk management virtual inspection and scheduling operations team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately
  • Lead the project to build and implement a scheduling process for our outside Risk Managers
  • Manage the quality and KPI’s of the Risk Management outsourced processes
  • Identify opportunities to streamline risk management processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Perform reviews of reports for the purpose of identifying underwriting concerns, potential hazards and developing risk mitigation strategies and determining appropriate levels of insurance to value
  • Clearly communicate findings and determinations to clients, agency partners and internal stakeholders and develop a plan to mitigate risk in a manner consistent with Berkley One’s philosophy
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional growth
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and provide operational insights to leadership and other stakeholders
  • Proactively address operational challenges and escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution
  • Evaluate risks and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions to workflows.
    Perform other duties intended to develop relationships with agency partners, clients, internal business partners
  • Other projects, initiatives and work as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in risk management, loss control, construction, residential or commercial appraising, underwriting, property claims, as well as experience in the high-net-worth marketplace or a related field position is a plus
  • Ability to recognize various construction practices and understand building costs and associated issues
  • Ability to learn and develop a high performing team
  • Strong insurance and business acumen
  • Ability to adopt new tools and systems to enhance operational efficiency
  • Incredible empathy and understanding of the needs of our customers, both insureds and their agents alike; you will be an excellent, pro-active advocate for Berkley One customers and are passionate about their brand experience
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and schedules
  • Ability to adjust to evolving demands of high-net-worth clients and regulatory changes
  • Resilient under the pressure of meeting service level agreements
