Verus is seeking a self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst to support our exciting and evolving business technology driven projects and products.  This individual must have the ability to work with a strong sense of urgency, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.  The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and developing solutions to enhance organizational performance.  The role involves working closely with key stakeholders to understand their needs and translating these into detailed requirements for new or enhanced systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders to gather, organize, analyze, and document business requirements
• Conduct meetings, interviews, workshops and surveys to elicit business needs
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Review and/or determine data metric needs

 

Process & Data Analysis:

• Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement
• Develop process models and flowcharts to represent current and future business processes
• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support decision-making
• Develop reports, dashboards, and other tools to present findings to stakeholders

Solutions Development:

• Collaborate with IT and other departments to develop solutions that meet business requirements
• Assist in the design, development, testing, and implementation of new systems or enhancements to existing systems
• Evaluate the feasibility and impact of potential solutions

Project Management:

• Assist in the planning and management of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time
• Coordinate with project teams to monitor progress and resolve issues

Stakeholder Communication:

• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams
• Communicate requirements, project updates, and deliverables to stakeholders
• Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather feedback and ensure alignment

Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.
• Insurance Experience is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product management or similar roles, preferably within the commercial insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of IT systems and software development lifecycles.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
• Self-motivated, analytical, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA & Azure Dev Ops is a plus.

 

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using business analysis tools and techniques, such as process modeling and requirements management.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) and project management software.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies is a plus.
