Responsibilities

This position will be providing support for multiple operating units within WR Berkley Corp on the Oracle Essbase/OAS Reporting, Vena planning applications and various data warehouse initiatives. The position involves the ability to gather business requirements; development of custom reports, databases, scripts, queries and ETL processes; communication and interaction with both internal and external resources.

 

• Design and implementation of ETL process, data structure and analytical/operational reporting environments.
• Will design significant new system functionality with a consideration of performance, stability, and supportability
• Ability to modify existing functionality or provide minor improvements with limited direction.
• Demonstrates solid development processes including code review, documentation, and unit testing.
• Will be required to communicate and coordinate with multiple Operating Units, along with Corporate Finance, Actuarial and Information Technology teams.
• Assists in the development, maintenance, and oversight of various databases, software packages, and other tools.
• Provides support for financial analyses through data set up, interrogation, and observations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of SQL experience (Microsoft SQL Server is preferred).
• 1+ year of experience working with or understanding formal ETL tools
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong project management, organization and planning skills.
• Oracle Essbase, Excel VBA and AI knowledge and experience beneficial.
• Multi line property and casualty insurance experience also beneficial.
• Demonstrated experience in effective collaboration and providing a high degree of customer satisfaction.
• Ability to effectively work in an environment with competing demands resources, time, and priorities.
• Ability to work independently

 

Education Requirement

 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preferably in actuarial science, math or computer science
