Responsibilities

The Information Security Software Engineer will support and expand our InfoSec automation and data pipeline ecosystem. This role is hands on and multifaceted—responsible for building, maintaining, and improving custom connectors, automation workflows, and data movement between security tools. You will work with legacy code, modern cloud environments, and complex integrations across multiple platforms. This position requires a strong engineering mindset, excellent coding ability, and the versatility to operate across ETL, DevOps, and infrastructure automation.

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows across multiple InfoSec tools (e.g., CrowdStrike → Cribl) to ensure reliable and accurate data flow.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing pipelines, including legacy scripts and applications written by prior architects or team members.
  • Develop, refactor, and maintain custom connectors and automation tooling used across security and operations teams.
  • Support and enhance fat client applications and internal tools leveraged by the Help Desk and InfoSec teams.
  • Implement best practices for infrastructure related coding (Python, PowerShell), including modularization, error handling, and observability.
  • Collaborate with InfoSec leadership and engineering teams (including C CERT) to define automation needs, requirements, and priorities.
  • Deploy cloud infrastructure components (App Services, networking, security controls) and manage application deployments into cloud environments.
  • Modify and maintain integration logic, including pagination handling, API endpoint configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Improve operational efficiency and reliability within connectors and pipelines through optimized data transformations and automation.
  • Contribute to metrics and reporting frameworks as the scope of the role expands.
  • Participate in defining team standards and providing training on what the automation group can and cannot support.
  • Ensure strong data governance and pipeline stability across relational and non relational data sources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience and/or alternative qualifications will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, or DevOps focused development roles.
  • Strong, hands-on coding ability in Python and PowerShell (required).
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with InfoSec tools, automation patterns, log pipelines, or security data flows (experience with Cribl or similar tools is a plus).
  • Experience creating and maintaining API integrations, including modifying endpoints, handling pagination, and optimizing calls.
  • Competence in cloud deployment practices—provisioning infrastructure, deploying applications, and managing network configurations.
  • Able to understand and maintain code written by multiple contributors with varying levels of quality or documentation.
  • Strong understanding of database structures, including relational and non relational systems.
  • Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, version control, and automated testing.
  • Ability to operate independently in a role with evolving responsibilities and ambiguous requirements.
  • Comfort supporting legacy scripts while building more scalable, long term solutions.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to translate “what the business needs” into technical automation solutions.
